No other player in the field managed to break 70 more than once. The big-hitting left-hander played his unique brand of golf to perfection, making birdies when he hit good shots, and simply powering his way out of trouble when he did not – and never more so than when hitting his second shot on the par-5 15th out of rough, through trees, over water and just off the back of the green to turn a moment of jeopardy into the simplest of pars. 20-year-old Spieth briefly took the lead early in the final round, but the pressure of potentially becoming the youngest ever champion – and the first debutant winner since Fuzzy Zoeller in 1979 – seemed to take its toll as he lost four shots to Watson on the 8th and 9th holes alone. Several other players looked to be in position to challenge through the day - Blixt, Rickie Fowler, Miguel Angel Jimenez, 54-year-old Fred Couples and even Rory McIlroy, who went on a birdie rush around the turn – but one by one, all fell by the wayside. Watson hit some wayward drives early on and bogeyed the short par-4 third despite driving to within 20 yards of the green, but birdies on the 4th, 6th, 8th and 9th saw him go out in 33 and lead by two. He bogeyed the 10th to see his lead cut to one shot, but Spieth put his ball in the water at the par-3 12th hole to restore Watson's two-shot advantage. Watson then crushed a 366-yard drive around the corner on the par-5 13th, leaving himself a mere wedge to the green where he safely two-putted for birdie and a three shot lead that he retained all the way home. He never again looked in danger, and in fact came close to birdies on 14, 15 and 16 as he cruised home, becoming the ninth man to win a second Green Jacket two years after his first.VisionBedding Custom Designs">">
